I can sense the pain you have inside,
Somewhere along the way the real you died.
Someone must have been mean and cruel,
Now the real you just can't shine through.
If only you could realize you are not alone in your hurt,
Other souls have been wounded and like you hurt.
Byt maybe together we can begin to heal the pain,
And together we can really know love again.
True, true love can not be bought or sold,
Even if beaten down or treated cold it will still hold.
So if your love seems to have died,
Don't you think it's worth being revived?
Maybe in some sort of way,
If we help each other along the way,
Love will grow again and be so good,
Past pain won't even be understood.
I see you shake your head in disbelief,
You don't think this possible because of that terrible thief.
But if you strain hard to see through those tears,
You'll see me trying my best to allay your fears.
So raise your head up and look into my eyes,
You'll surely know all I'm telling you is not lies.
You can have a new life free from all that mars,
And get rid of those terrible, terrible scars.
So please let me see you smile,
As arm in arm we go mile after mile after mile,
Down life's winding highway together,
Knowing side by side whatever the stormy weather,
We'll make it as long as we are together.
